Some pupils from Class 1, Class 7 and Class 10 enjoyed an excellent multi-sensory morning on Tuesday 27th November when Replay Theatre came to School to put on a special performance called 'Closer'. The show told the story of a trip into outer space with the pupils joining in as the 'Earthlings'. If you look closely at the photographs you will see that the story started in the classroom and was then performed in a specially constructed dome. To add to the theme all the pupils travelled to outer space in their own rocket! It was amazing to see how engaged and interested the pupils were and we really appreciate the work put into involving every single pupil by the amazing cast. The pupils enjoyed lights, music, singing, movement, sounds and lots more. We hope that this will be the start of many more visits from Replay Theatre to our School.

Siblings Group October 2018 Update

Our last Siblings group was great fun. Drumming with Joe from ‘the Gathering Drum’ was a big hit. Everyone was great at keeping to the beat! We also enjoyed lots of team games and activities which are helping us to get to know each other.

Team Building in Carlingford

Donard staff were treated to a mystery team building day at the end of August. Almost 50 members of the team boarded the bus with no idea what was in store for the day! A mysterious text in the middle of August to suggest bringing some Euro’s should’ve given them a clue!

Sunny Carlingford was the destination where the school year started in style with coffee and a scone. The structure of the day followed the theme of a pub quiz with a difference – as well as the usual general knowledge and picture rounds this one had a ‘build a jigsaw round’ and a scavenger hunt round – only in Donard!

Competition was fierce and more than a little cheating was evident! Despite this everyone finished the day in high spirits with Lunch at The Four Seasons.

The whole staff team are refreshed and ready for another busy year at Donard School.

Summer Fete

The sun really shone for Donard School on the day of our first ever Summer Fete.

Parents and staff worked together to make it one to remember – Let’s hope there are many more in the years to come.

The total raised at last count is 3,300 pounds – thank you all for your donations and your hard work before and during the day. Our pupils had a blast!
