Christmas Jumpers for Christmas Dinner!

A deep layer of snow set the scene for the day on Friday 8th December. Those who made it to school showed off their Christmas Jumpers while enjoying Christmas Dinner. The Mayor, Councellor Gareth Wilson, popped in to wish us all a Merry Christmas.

Thank you to all who donated to ‘Save the Children’ jumper day. More than one hundred pounds was raised for this worthy cause.

The Ambulance Visits School

‘People Who Help Us’ is the junior school topic this term. What better way to learn than a visit from the people themselves? Some paramedics brought their ambulance to school. They did some role play with the pupils and told them all about their job. The boys and girls got to ‘drive’ the ambulance and switch on its siren.

Sports Day 2017

Donard School held it's Banbridge-themed Sports Day on Wednesday 7th June. The pupils were divided into 7 teams with pupils from across the School represented in each team. After a parade of teams Classes 1, 7 and 8 kicked off proceedings with a wheelchair dance to the 'Happy' music from Despicable Me, assisted by their very own Minion Staff. A range of games and relay races were enjoyed by all the pupils, and everyone left with a medal to celebrate their achievements. As usual the pupils made us very proud, and all the cheering Mums, Dads, family and friends helped to make our 2017 Sports Day one to remember. Thank you to all who organised the day (especially Mrs Goss), and to Banbridge Leisure Centre Staff for their assistance.
